Nathan D. McMurray ("Nate") is an accomplished attorney and business executive with a demonstrated commitment to public service. He has an impressive track record of successfully handling some of the most high-profile civil rights cases in the Western New York region.

 

He is currently Of Counsel at Advocates for Justice in New York, New York, where he consults on and supports public interest and civil rights lawsuits in Rochester, Buffalo, and Niagara Falls.

 

Mr. McMurray is also a former Town Supervisor of the Town Of Grand Island, a multi-lingual attorney fluent in Korean and Mandarin, and a former Congressional candidate who fiercely fought against the Trump family in upstate New York, losing by just 0.29% in 2018.

 

Before transitioning to public service, Mr. McMurray served as Vice President of Business Development and Assistant General Counsel at Delaware North Companies. In this role, he advised senior leadership teams of multiple business divisions, which together comprised more than $2.5 billion in total revenue.

 

Prior to his career at Delaware North Companies, Mr. McMurray worked in Asia advising multinationals (e.g., Samsung, Hyundai, and related affiliates) on outbound investment projects (China, India, U.S.) and cross-border disputes.

 

He also helped advise U.S. companies (including Costco, Texas Instruments, and General Motors) on Korean market strategy. Mr. McMurray began his legal career as a Foreign Legal Counsel at Allen & Overy, LLP in Beijing, China, working with A&O's China-based arbitration team on various disputes and representing a leading U.S. technology company on its acquisition.

 

As a Fulbright Scholar, he studied at the Constitutional Court of Korea.

 

Throughout his career, in both the private and public sector, Mr. McMurray has been dedicated to human rights, promoting social justice, and advocating for civil rights in his community and beyond.
